About Us
At Pine Ridge Secondary School on February 9, students from Oshawa, Whitby, and Pickering gathered for the 'SOAR' event, marking African Heritage Month and celebrating the achievements of African-Canadian females. Hosted by leaders from the Graduation Coach for Black Student Program, the event featured seven accomplished women nominated for the "100 most successful Black women in Canada" award. Students from various schools engaged in discussions led by the Graduation Coach for Black Student Program, addressing topics such as leadership and overcoming barriers to success. The event, filled with poetry and song, left attendees expressing gratitude for the enriching experience and anticipation for future events.
