Improvement of Teaching and Learning Spaces

As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of education needs in our vibrant and growing communities, ongoing construction at the new consolidated Beaver River Public School and the addition at Mary Street Community School are just two of the exciting and innovative projects underway.

Construction of Beaver River Public School.

Expected to open in September 2024, Beaver River Public School represents a unification of two existing schools in the Beaverton area: Thorah Central Public School and Beaverton Public School. The new school will bring together the best of traditions and educational practices from the Thorah and Beaverton communities and represents forward thinking and creativity on the part of everyone involved in the planning and design to help solve enrolment growth challenges.

At Mary Street CS, students, staff and families eagerly await the completion of a building addition to help accommodate the thriving and growing population in Oshawa. The new permanent addition is scheduled to open in September 2024 and will replace a portapac currently onsite. Students and staff have waited and watched as work has progressed and are excited to access the added space soon!

One of our key strengths lies in our collaboration with locally elected officials. Together with the Board of Trustees and in collaboration with elected officials in local and municipal government, we continue to advocate for the needs of our rapidly growing communities.
