Learning the Lessons of Leadership at Queen Elizabeth Public School
Queen Elizabeth Public School in Oshawa challenged conventional views of leadership by organizing the Eagles Intermediate Leadership Camp for its Grade 7 and 8 students. The camp aimed to inspire students to develop leadership skills, build student identity, and contribute to a positive school community. Through workshops facilitated by DDSB Youth Workers, a social worker, an artist, and educators, students explored leadership traits, communication, conflict management, stress coping, emotions, sleep importance, pathways, and social media well-being. The initiative reflects the school's commitment to promoting student voices, identities, and leadership, aligning with the core principles of the DDSB Ignite Learning Strategic Plan.
